ORDINANCE No. 01-08

AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF FORT MYERS BEACH ESTABLISHING THE COMPENSATION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL, PROVIDING AUTHORITY; COMPENSATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE.

IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE TOWN OF FORT MYERS BEACH AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. AUTHORITY. This Ordinance is enacted pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 95-494, Laws of Florida, 166, Florida Statutes, and other applicable provisions of law.

SECTION 2. Compensation. All council members, except the Mayor, shall be paid $600.00 $1,200.00 per month. The Mayor shall be paid $700.00 $1,400.00 per month.

SECTION 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and the compensation shall become effective the first day of the first month following the first regular election of the town subsequent to the adoption of this ordinance.

The foregoing ordinance was enacted by the Town Council upon a motion by Council Member Murphy and seconded by Council Member Cain and, upon being put to a vote, the result was as follows:
