Hurricane Clean-Up and Relief
To obtain FEMA assistance, call 1-800-621-3362. Please click here for important information regarding FEMA. A Disaster Recovery Center from FEMA will be set up at the Summerlin Square mall. The DRC is for applicants and other affected persons to meet with FEMA in person about immediate and long term assistance. The deadline for filing for relief for Hurricane Charley is October 12, 2004. If Hurricane Frances caused further damage, this must be in a separate claim.
All independent contractors wishing to perform work on Estero Island must be registered with the Town of Fort Myers Beach Contractor Registery. Please click

Financial Assistance Available
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) through FEMA offers loans up to $200,000 to repair disaster damage of primary residences and up to $40,000 to replace personal property for homeowners and renters. Loans to businesses and profit orgainizations are available up to $1.5 million. To access all forms of disaster assistance, individuals must first register with FEMA at 621-FEMA or hearing and speech impared: TDD (800) 462-7585.
