9. Public Hearing: Ordinance Adopting the Operating Budget for 1998- This is the ordinance that adopts the budget as voted by the Council.
10.Public Hearing: Ordinance To Establish and Levy Ad Valorem Taxes- This ordinance adopts the millage as voted by the Council.
11. Public Hearing: Towing Ordinance
- Discussion of staff memo – This memo reviews issues raised by the Towing Companies that attended a meeting at Town Hall. It also offers a revised recommendation on fees as discussed with the Towing Companies.
- First Reading: Ordinance to amend the ordinance establishing the Marine
Resources Task Force – This ordinance reflects changes requested by the Council as to number of members and terms.
13. Resolution calling for an election of Council members to Seats #1 and #2 – This resolution is required by the Supervisor of Elections so that the fall election can be held.
14. Resolution placing proposed changes to the charter for referendum – This resolution is required by the Supervisor of Elections so that these ballot questions may be placed on the ballot in November.
15. Resolution to set public hearing on petition to vacate - In order for the Council to hold a hearing of vacation, they must by resolution set a future public hearing date. The request is to set this for hearing on October 20, 1997 at 6:30 PM. This petition to vacate lagoon right-of-way concerns a property located at 201 San Carlos Blvd., Strap #24-46-23-W3-00024.0000. The Case Number is 97-09-042.03R. The Case file is available at Town Hall.
16. Contract with the Lee County Supervisor of Elections – This contract has been requested by the Supervisor of Elections in order to hold the November 1997 election for the Town.

- Delegate to Convocation on beaches and passes – This concerns an upcoming convocation that has a significant bearing on the future of the beach renourishment efforts for Estero Island.
