Don Massucco
Don Massucco was elected to Seat #1 Fort Myers Beach Town Council on March 9, 2004. Don's Town Council subject assignments are: Charlotte Harbor National Estuary Program Policy Committee and Lee County Coastal Advisory Council.
Don has been married to Jeanette (Nettie) for 43 years and has two children, Dawn and Sheri, both in law enforcement in Massachusetts. He is the proud grandfather of Heather, 9 and Kevin, 6.
A resident of West Peabody, Massachusetts, Don is a Korean War Veteran (US Air Force 1951-1953), served as a Transportation Planner for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and also held Real Estate and Insurance licenses in that state. He retired and moved to Florida in 1993. Don is best known as the guy who initiated the Tolling Referendum Petition allowing the issue of tolling to be placed on a referendum should it become necessary. A member of the Fraternal Order of Elks, Lodge #1288, member of the American Legion Post #274, Adjutant VFW Post #10097 and Secretary, Board of Directors, Bel Air Beach Club Fort Myers Beach.
Don's mission as Councilman is to strictly regulate growth and density on the island by enforcing the restrictions and regulations contained in the "Comp Plan" and Land Use Code, and to continue to explore new ways to mitigate traffic on our Island utilizing Island Resident expertise.
