John Gucciardo
John joined the Town's management team as Assistant Town Manager in April 1996, being
the first Assistant Town Manager after the incorporation of the Town of Fort Myers Beach.
In his current position as Deputy Town Manager, John serves under the direction of the
Town Manager and is responsible for coordinating the Town's interface with Lee County, as
it provides municipal services under interlocal agreements and completes its work on the
Times Square project. John also coordinates the development of the budget and the
relationships with the Sheriff's office and LEE TRAN, as well as, a host of other duties.
A native of New York City, John graduated from the University of Buffalo with a
Bachelor of Arts degree in history and American Studies. He attended the School of Law at
the University of Buffalo and is an attorney licensed to practice in New York. Prior to
becoming Assistant Town Manager, he was employed in the Title Insurance industry in
Florida for twelve years with experience as Title Information Supervisor and In-House
Counsel for the largest Title Insurance agent in Collier County. He is intimately familiar
with the issues associated with land use, planning and regulation and development. He is
registered with the Florida Growth Management Conflict Resolution Consortium as a
"Special Master" pursuant to the terms of the Private Property Rights Act.
John and his wife, Joanne, have been full-time residents of Fort Myers Beach for 14
years.
